Social Justice Youth Program
To mark the historic closing of Oregon’s Fairview Institution in March 2000, I went to Salem, OR with my friend Eddie to walk the grounds of an institution that, had we been born just a few decades earlier, likely would have been our home. Created by the Social Justice Youth Program.
Finding My Own Superpower: How to Build Your Own Universe Workshop
Originally presented to fellow self-advocates at the 2026 National Down Syndrome Congress in Orlando, FL.
This informative and fun interactive session on self-employment and advocacy through art will inspire and challenge you. I will share the steps I took to put my dreams into action. At the core of my experience is the importance of listening to my own voice and recognizing my own superpowers. Sometimes our superpowers get drained by people who get in the way because we have a disability. I will guide you in creating your own super hero character to affirm and remind you that we all have our own special superpowers that nobody can take away!
Available for bookings: message me to bring this workshop to your school, conference, or event!
